A Vacation is Called For

            A Vacation Is Called For

After all of the wind and rain and bad weather I believe that a vacation is called for.

“Hey, my house is under water and I actually do mean that it is under water. About three feet of it. You are crazy.”

Calm down. I understand this. I am close to where you are. I know how crazy the weather has been lately. The night of the hurricane I saw a transformer exploded within twenty feet of my house. A shower of sparks only looks cool when it is not near your non fire resistant home. When I listened to the wind blowing and the windows rocking in their frames I thought to myself “man why am I here instead of anywhere else?”.  I could have been on a tropical island getting hit by a typhoon instead.

Yeah I know, I always look on the bright side of things.

I don’t know where I am going to take my great escape vacation. I have very few ideas where to suggest that you take your holiday. What I am going to suggest today is that you start off small. Take a weekend somewhere to prepare you for a real vacation.  How about a five star hotel or a country Inn? Or if you are on a budget a motel six or a tent in the neighbor’s backyard. 120x90 - Unpublished Rate Hotels

It is about escaping. It is about getting away. It is about finding somewhere to rest and relax. Go out and look at some deals. Talk to some people about vacation planning. Check out some sites and some trial offers. There is no greater word in the English language than the word free. Free offers and free trials.

Okay that is it for today. Add us to your google plus and tell a few friends about this site.

The Holiday Family Vacation

            The Holiday Family Vacation

You are being told by the person closest to you that visiting the relatives is a vacation. Clearly before you moved in with or even married this person you failed to notice the fact that they are from another planet.

No one born on earth and actually understands what goes on during a so called family visit/vacation would call it a vacation.

Is it possible to rest while being asked to drive those three cousins that you have never met before all over creation to look for that forth cousin who for some reason (you suspect not exactly legal) is in a part of town where they find stripped cars like yours? Cars that sometimes have bodies like your’s stuffed in the glove compartment.  You do it because you are on a vacation and what could really happen?

People like you are never the subject of lifetime movies are they?

Face it the only thing worst than being the vacation family visitor is having the family use your own as a vacation destination. Nothing is more heart warming than having a bunch of strangers with your last name walking off with all of your space heaters and hard liquor.

    Do not let this happen.

Plan it yourself before you get family planned vacation into a corner. Pick a place to go. Book it. Draw up escape plans and destroy any chance that the family vacation will be requested.
“But what if I plan a little escape and he or she says no?”

   No to a cruise?

No to a quiet country inn?

    No to Vegas?

    No to a Ski trip?

    No to wine country?

No to hunting polar bears with a pocket knife?

Who would say no to something like that?

Like all great escapes. You plan it, set it up and execute it without hesitation or mercy. You are using an escape vacation to escape the family vacation.

I have given you a great plan. The holidays are right around the corner so hurry up and do not let the warden or the guards find out about it.

I will now leave you some Banner ads to steer you toward some guys who can help you make final plans.

Excape Vacation Planning

            Vacation Planning

Your vacation planning has largely consisted of your finding a dark corner of your home from time to time, crawling into it and praying for a merciful end to it all?

Life is hard most of the time and when you are exhausted it is even harder. At moments like those your thoughts are not of a quiet little vacation. Of packing a few bag, making reservations and hiring someone to take care of the plants while you are away.

Your thoughts are of diving out of the nearest window. Jumping onto the back of a pickup truck and hiding under the tarp until you hear the sound of planes taking off or border crossing guards asking for papers.

Am I talking about a vacation or an escape plan?

I will ask you a question. Is there a difference?

Expedia.com     I did not plan this as one of those Blogs where every thing is all sunshine and rainbows. Where you are taking a vacation because you feel like smelling the roses in the south of France. My idea of a get away is just that. To get away from the problems. The questions. The phone calls. The responsibility.

And if going to France to smell roses will do that for you let’s try to get you there. If it is visiting Rome, taking a cruise, dancing on tables in Brazil, swimming with man eating sharks in the Carribean, watching the sun come up in Japan or picking fruit in Florida, maybe we can get you there.

“Did you did say picking fruit?”

Yes I did. Would you rather pick fruit for a dollar an hour in the middle of no where or hear yourself yelling stop that, don’t do that, put that down, where did you get that, is that smoke I smell, to the kids?

A vacation is for those who hear thank you once in a while for all the things that they do for the people who spent most of their time sleeping , eating and spending money they did not earn.

An escape vacation is what we will talk about from time to time.

Perhaps you need to get away for just a few days. Why not find a nice quiet inn.

Escape Vacation

             Two Weeks A Year

You and I if we are the lucky ones get two weeks off each year to escape, I mean to vacation from our normal everyday life. Some of use decide to vacation at home. Kick back and try to catch up on all the things that have been sitting there and waiting to be done while we were too busy with the job.

    Don’t do this.

Do not waste this chance to recharge by staying home. You are home everyday. I ask you what kind of vacation is that. Why would you want to be home. Your family know that you are there. Your problems know that you are there. Friends and enemies who want to borrow money know that you are there.

For two weeks you get to become a fugitive. Did the hero in Shawshank Redemption did that hole in the wall and crawl through 500 yards of you know what so that he could hang out in another part of the prison for a while?

   No.

He put on some clean shoes, emptied the bank accounts and headed for the border.

I know, I know, he did not have to come back.

    Well you cannot have everything.

Vacations are largely pretending up until the last twelve hours that it will never end. With this blog I am hoping to encourage both you and me to jump the fence and disappear for a while.

Yeah, I know. They are going to catch up to us sooner or later, but hey there is fun and adventure to be had while they are chasing us.

Okay what do we do first?

How about hit some travel sites. Get some free information and watch some videos about places that you want to go to. When you visit this blog I will try to post offers that may be able to help. They will mostly be ones that interest me and if any of you guys use any of them it will help me to pay for my little escape plan. When you run web sites for a living you really only get to skip off to Tokyo when you have super amazing escape money set aside.

Okay that is it for now. Please take a moment to add me to your google plus and to stumble this blog on stumbleupon.
